AI for Charities and Delivering Stronger Gratitude Webinar Recordings
Here are links to two webinars we hosted in August 2026.
One showed fundraisers how to automate a better thank-you experience for supporters. The other put two fundraisers on stage to argue about AI, in front of a live audience who got to vote on who they agreed with.
We’re also delighted to launch our new podcast: Beyond the Slop.
Delivering Stronger Gratitude and Welcome Journeys via APIs
Craig walked through how to turn the donor data you already collect into a faster, more personal thank-you, using Fundraise Up's API as the working example. From the thank-you page, to the welcome email, to the wider donor journey.
The point isn't Fundraise Up specifically. It's that most charities are sitting on donor data that never makes it into the moment that matters most: the thank-you. An API is just the plumbing that moves that data where it needs to go, automatically, so a donor's second gift decision starts from a better first experience.
If you want to set up something similar at your charity, get in touch. We'd be glad to help.
AI for Charities: Force for Good or Destructive Menace?
Craig argued AI is a genuine force for good in the sector. Anna Hessenbruch, founder of Magnetic, argued it still has too many problems, bias, plagiarism, and the environmental cost among them, to trust yet.
The audience voted at the start, and voted again at the end. Opinions moved. We won't spoil which way.
The recording also includes the framework we use for deciding when AI is worth using in your charity, and when it isn't.
Introducing Beyond the Slop
That debate is also why we've launched something new: a weekly podcast with Anna called Beyond the Slop.
Every week, we cover how we're actually using AI, the latest AI news and what it means for fundraisers and charities, and the moments when AI goes wrong. No hype, no fear, just what's real and what to do about it.
